After two schools of Jewellery in Paris, my Jeweller's diploma in hand, I was fortunate enough to work for the illustrious house of Arthus Bertrand.

It was at the time of Bokassa's coronation, where I participated (modestly) in the production of jewels (ornaments, decorations, etc.). I have never seen so much gold and diamond as I did during my time there.

I crossed France, stopping at Marseille and the port of Cassis on the way, where I stopped for some years. But, I eventually put my bags down in Moissac.

I spent years trying different styles: classical, modern, ancient, etc. But, at 48 years old (already), after varying amounts of success with each style, I realised that the only jewel, and the only style, that suits me is one that takes me all day to find technical solutions, and allows me to let go completely.

Anyone can create something covered in sapphires and rubies. This is evidenced by the success that large manufacturers have had in their mass production techniques.

To make a gem of character and perfect harmony, even with simple quartz, requires thought, taste and experience.

I work with wax carvings and plasticine, along with the lost method of wax casting - a technique that has been around for generations. This enables me to achieve the wildest and most sophisticated designs.

I select my stones for their individual qualities, forms or their rarity. Each one inspires a different arrangement - but, this can occasionally take some time to realise! It's like unfolding a mystery.

My jewels are unique. I am inspired by all that I see and have seen in my life, giving a unique character to all of my creations. And, thus, they do not please everyone. But, this is the game we all play.

Copying jewellery sets from a catalogue really doesn't interest me. It is much better to create something custom made for the individual.
